The Lewis & Clark Fort Mandan Foundation has immediate openings for the following positions: Interpreter and Visitor Service Associate.

Interpreter

The Interpreter will be responsible for conducting tours, preparing and presenting programs and leading educational activities at the Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan.  Successful candidates must have excellent communication skills, be able to present educational programs creatively and is self-motivated to research historical information.  This position has a 30-40 hour work schedule, including weekends.

Visitor Service Associate

The Visitor Service Associate will be responsible for greeting visitors, providing information about the sites and assisting visitors in locating merchandise in the museum stores at the Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan. Will also be responsible for processing merchandise shipments.

Successful candidate must have excellent communication and organization skills and be able to work independently.  This position has a 20-30 hour work schedule, including weekends. The work schedule will vary by season.

Facility Maintenance Technician

The Facility Maintenance Technician involves manual and semi-skilled work associated with the maintenance and repair of the Foundation's buildings and facilities.  Responsibilities include carpentry work, such as refinishing and painting; oversee the repair, replacement, and installation of electrical components and plumbing fixtures; preventative maintenance on motorized equipment; removing downed trees, debris, litter; and maintaining safe walkways and parking area.  Duties also include janitorial services such as vacuuming, dusting and mopping.  Successful candidates must have proven skills to perform general building and facility maintenance and janitorial services. Candidates must possess skills to properly operate a variety of hand and power tools. A flexible schedule and an excellent compensation and benefits package is available.
