Middle Missouri History Bee
Friday, April 30th
Calling all area 4th graders! Calling all area 4th graders! It's time once again for our 3rd annual Middle Missouri History Bee!
The History Bee is a team competition, open only to area fourth graders, where they will compete against other teams for the coveted traveling trophy and team awards.
Here’s how the competition will work: The competition has been broken down into four rounds. The first two rounds are preliminary and every team is guaranteed two rounds. The third round is the semi-finals and the fourth round is the final round. In each round four person teams will be given a tablet of paper and a marker. They will be asked a question and will have 30 seconds to write down there answer. Correct answers will earn the team points. After 10 questions have been completed the top two teams with will advance to the next round and the remaining teams will compete in the second chance bracket. All questions will be taken from the North Dakota Blue Book, Knife River Indian Villages National Park website, Cross Ranch State Park website, Fort Stevenson State Park website and the Lewis & Clark Fort Mandan Foundation website.
The History Bee registration/check in starts at 11:00 am at the Headwaters Fort Mandan Visitor Center. We will serve lunch at 11:30 and start the competetion at 12:30 sharp at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. Teams are welcome to come and tour the Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan free of charge before the competition begins.
