Launched in April of 2010 with David Nicandri's River of Promise: Lewis and Clark on the Columbia to critical acclaim, The Dakota Institute has embarked on a mission of publishing a variety of genres, all rooted in our sense of place in the Northern Prairie. With Clay Jenkinson as editor in chief, the Institute relies on the staff of the Lewis & Clark Fort Mandan Foundation to produce books of the highest quality, distributed nationally by the University of Oklahoma Press and available from booksellers everywhere.
