New Art Collection Now On Exhibit

Posted on 2/10/2014

Washburn, ND - Original drawings by Eldridge Hardie and selected poems by Timothy Murphy, a Fargo native, are now on display at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn.

The poetry of Timothy Murphy expresses his passion for hunting as well as leaving readers with a message of stewardship for their surroundings. The author spent nearly thirty years accumulating the poetry for his book, Hunter's Log, recently published by the Dakota Institute Press of the Lewis & Clark Fort Mandan Foundation. The selected poems from Murphy's book are accompanied by the Foundation's ten original drawings from one of America's greatest outdoor illustrators, Eldridge Hardie.

"Hunter's Log: Poems by Timothy Murphy with Illustrations by Eldridge Hardie" is on display through April 30. The drawings, along with an original watercolor painting by Hardie, are sponsored by Alvera Bergquist of Bismarck and are part of the Foundation's permanent collection.
