Lewis & Clark Farmers Market open every Friday

Posted on 6/20/2014

Washburn, N.D. - The Lewis & Clark Farmers Market will open for the season on Friday, June 20 at its new location in the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center's parking lot. The market will be open each Friday from 4-7 p.m. June-September and 3-6 p.m. in October.

"We are looking forward to this partnership with the Lewis & Clark Fort Mandan Foundation and know that our customers will enjoy the new programs being offered along with our market," says market manager, Dwight Duke.

Participating vendors will sell a variety of fresh produce, herbs, baked goods, and jellies.

The Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center will offer extended hours and free admission each Friday from 4:30-7 p.m. to encourage Farmers Market shoppers to visit and see the Center's new "Our Agrarian Heritage" wing, featuring the Governor Arthur A. and Grace Johnson Link gallery. Visitors will also see three gardens recently planted in Harmony Park with daily interpretive programs offered, including during the Farmers Market.

Free admission is sponsored by Great River Energy.

For more information, call 877-462-8535. Both the Center and Fort Mandan are open every day from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
