Melanie Carvell book launch July 10

BISMARCK - Bismarck author Melanie Carvell's book "Running with the Antelope: Life, Fitness, and Grit on the Northern Plains" will be released by The Dakota Institute Press Thursday, July 10 with a reception, program and signing at Bismarck State College's National Energy Center of Excellence.

The reception, sponsored by Odney, begins at 5:30 p.m., with program scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Basin Auditorium.

Carvell, a physical therapist and Director of the Sanford Women's Health Center in Bismarck, is a lifelong North Dakotan and accomplished triathlete. She is a six-time All American, representing USA Triathlon on eight World Championship teams, winning a bronze medal in Germany in 1999.

"We are thrilled to publish Melanie's delightful memoir," says David Borlaug, publisher. "Readers will find her story inspiring, with her devotion to helping people lead happier, more productive, lives."

Additional signings are scheduled July 16 at Barnes and Noble, Bismarck, 5:30-7 p.m. and July 17 at Sanford, 414 N. 7th Street, Bismarck in the Conference Room from 2-3:30 p.m.
