Winter Quilt Show
Dec. 7 - Jan. 18
It’s time again for our annual Winter Quilt Show! This year, the
Lewis & Clark Fort Mandan Foundation will be displaying the quilts for our annual
Quilt Show at the Memorial Building in downtown Washburn alongside the
Smithsonian exhibit, “Journey Stories.” The Exhibit and the Quilts will be displayed December 7 through January 18. Wall hangings and quilts of all sizes are welcome.
Entry into the Quilt Show is free.
New to the Quilt Show this year is a Journey category. This category is open to quilts
that illustrate or demonstrate a Journey. Whether a modern Journey or an historical tale, Journeys of all kind are welcome. This category complements the Smithsonian exhibit
that we are honored to have on display in our community All you need to do is
provide a brief description of your quilt and the journey it is representing.
Entries need not follow the Journey theme to be displayed.
Quilts will be accepted through the 30th of November, 2009 and can be mailed to the address listed on the entry form or dropped off at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. Entries will be displayed at the Washburn Memorial Building, Main Ave, Washburn. The Quilt Show will be staffed when the exhibit is open to the public. Two complimentary passes will be given to each participant. People’s Choice Awards will be announced on December 12th at the first sitting of the Christmas Tea.
