Fort Mandan and the North Dakota Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center
Washburn, North Dakota
The
mission of the Lewis & Clark Fort Mandan Foundation is to
preserve and reveal our unique sense of place-beginning with the Lewis & Clark
Expedition at Fort Mandan and the stories of place, people, the
land, and the Missouri River.
Our goals focus on the historical transitions from the Lewis & Clark Expedition,
to the fur trade and riverboat era, through pioneer settlement and into the future,
being vigilant in telling the stories with as many voices as possible, mindful
of the unique history of our region.
Our staff is highly qualified and motivated to share interpretation of our exhibits,
stories of the past, present, and future of North Dakota, and insure historical
accuracy.
