The Corps of Discovery spent the winter of
1804-1805 near the present day Washburn, ND. Today, visitors
may explore the rich history of the area by visiting the
best interpretive center and historic sites of the Lewis & Clark Expedition
in North Dakota.

Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center Location:
Intersection of US Highway 83 and ND Highway 200A on
McLean County Highway 17, Washburn, North Dakota, 38
miles north of Bismarck.
Fort Mandan Location:
2 miles west of the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center on McLean County Highway 17
Hours of Operation:
Fort Mandan and the North Dakota Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center are open all year. Memorial Day through Labor Day, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m; remainder of year 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays Noon to 5 p.m.
Admission to Fort Mandan and Interpretive Center:
Adults $7.50
Students (K-College) $5.00
